Zoom Telephonics Estimates Sales For Second Quarter 1996
Boston, July 2, 1996 - Zoom Telephonics (NASDAQ: ZOOM),
a high-volume manufacturer of faxmodems and other personal
computer communication products, today announced that it expects
its second quarter 1996 sales to be about $21 million, up
from $17.1 million in the second quarter of 1995.
"Due to our experience in 1995 we expected a sales slowdown
in the second quarter, but June sales were disappointing,"
said Frank Manning, Zoom's President and CEO. "Zoom's
sales for the first six months of 1996 will still be up over
43% from the first six months of 1995." "Looking
to the second half of 1996, we expect a tough competitive
environment to continue. However, Zoom should benefit from
its planned introduction of a record number of new products
in the third quarter, including 33,600 bps faxmodems, faxmodems
that allow simultaneous voice and data, PCMCIA faxmodems with
concurrent modem and Ethernet capabilities, and our new Zoom
Business Products line that includes multi-line modems, remote
access products, and advanced business-oriented single-line
modems. We also expect to begin shipping our new ISDN modem
line in September or October." Zoom Telephonics

their personal computers through the world's largest network, the
