Zoom® Expands Its Global Presence
Opens Sales Offices in UK and Germany, Distribution Center in Holland, and New Distributors in Latin America

Boston, MA, June 11, 1997 - Zoom Telephonics (NASDAQ: ZOOM), a leading manufacturer of faxmodems and other wide area network computer communications equipment, announced today that it has opened two European sales offices, one in the Greater London area (May '97) and the other in the heart of downtown Munich, Germany (March '97). Zoom has also established a distribution center in the Netherlands at Road Air's facility located in Ettn-leur (February '97).

"Zoom has made a major commitment to Western Europe, with localized products, local sales, warehousing, distribution, and technical support," said Ron Murphy, Zoom's International Sales Manager. "Europe is a challenging market that must be approached country by country with country-specific products in native languages supported with European warehousing and technical support."

Zoom already has complete regulatory approval and localized products for many European countries, and Zoom will continue these efforts for 56K.

Zoom's international reach now totals 37 nations, including new distribution channels in Argentina and Chile (May '97). Zoom also recently established distribution in Slovenia and Thailand (April '97) and Switzerland (March '97). In addition, Zoom recently signed an agreement with Ingram Micro® to increase its distribution in Asia.
