Zoom Beats U.S. Robotics with Broad V.80 Video SupportU.S. Robotics Sportster and Courier Owners:"I Could Have Had a V.80"

Boston, MA, February 2, 1998 - Zoom Telephonics today announced that it offers a broad-based product line that supports the V.80 standard required for H.324 point-to-point video telephony, unlike 3Com's U.S. Robotics® Sportster® and Courier™ modems.

As of January 1998 all Zoom shipments of V.34 or 56K internal or external North American modems include V.80. Zoom's international products are scheduled to support V.80 with an easy software download no later than the second quarter of 1998.

The vast majority of U.S. Robotics modems do not currently support V.80.
